Therapy for
Your Relationships
family, friends, work, romantic, etc.
Therapist
Michael Myette, LCSW
For 17 years, I’ve helped individuals navigate complex relationship dynamics.
Does something feel off in the connections with your partner, your parent, a colleague, or even your child?
Is there chronic conflict, emotional distance, trust issues, or unclear boundaries and it leaves you feeling drained, confused, or even stuck in a pattern you can’t quite name?
The way you relate to others shapes so much of your emotional world. I help people reshape their relationships.
People Come to Me

Family dynamics

“The Best Time To Start Therapy Is As Soon As You’re Thinking About It”
Believing that healthy relationships should feel easy all the time sets people up for disappointment.
In reality, meaningful connection takes intention, reflection, and support- which is exactly what my therapy provides.
In relationship therapy I draw from:
-
helps you notice the thought patterns that shape your relationships, like assumptions, self-doubt, or black-and-white thinking, and shift them into something more helpful and true.
When your thinking softens, so do your interactions.
-
bring attention to what your body is trying to tell you in relationships, such as the clench in your jaw during conflict or the way you brace before asking for something you need.
Learning to tune into these signals helps you respond instead of react.
-
helps us understand how your past relationships, especially early ones, shaped the way you navigate closeness, trust, and conflict today.
We’ll gently explore these deeper layers to bring clarity and freedom to your current connections.
This isn’t just fixing one relationship.
It’s about understanding yourself, your triggers, your needs, your patterns, so you can build better relationships moving forward.
Relationship Focused Therapy That Yields Results
My approach is compassionate, down to earth, and direct. We’ll work together to understand things like:
“Why do I keep ending up in the same kinds of friendships, relationships, patterns at work, etc.?” It can feel like no matter who you’re with, a partner, a friend, a parent, the same patterns keep playing out. Maybe you’re always the one doing the emotional labor. Maybe you shut down to keep the peace. Therapy with me helps you recognize these dynamics so you can finally shift them.
“I don’t know how to say what I need without starting a fight.”Communication gets tricky when you weren’t taught how to express needs, or when doing so in the past got you ignored or punished. Together, we’ll untangle how you learned to communicate, set (or avoid) boundaries, and what’s really going on under the surface when tensions rise.
“I’ve realized my past isn’t in the past…it still has a grip on me.” Old wounds will show up in present-day relationships, even if you thought you’d moved on. Maybe you find it hard to trust, or you brace for rejection even when things seem okay. My therapy is built to make sense of those echoes from the past so they stop calling the shots in your life now.
My Relationship Therapy Works
Even When You're Coming Solo
You don’t need to bring a partner or another person to work on your relationship dynamics. In fact, doing this work individually can often be the most transformative.
We explore how your past informs your present, how you communicate and connect, & what’s getting in the way of authentic, healthy connection.

Getting Started
01.
Fill out the contact form. I personally respond to every message. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll make sure to connect you with someone who is.
02.
We’ll start with a brief phone call to get to know each other. If it feels like a good fit on both sides, we’ll find a time to schedule your first session.
03.
In our initial sessions, I’ll take the time to understand what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and how your relationships have shaped your experience. We build a foundation for effective work together.
